A renovated 1960s ambience with essential tones and linear furniture elements, but fine details. The Metal Design collection by Cerdisa, with its steel and calamine colours, was chosen for the refinement of the surfaces and the sophistication of the reflections.

The project involves the renovation of an apartment located on the 5°th floor of a 1968 building, situated in a pedestrian area adjacent to the Town Hall. The apartment, with a net area of 52 sqm, has been redesigned to accommodate a couple of big data analysis consultants, with a particular focus on black, grey and white colours, following a simple and essential approach.

The original layout, typical of the 60s, has been completely modified. The internal walls have been demolished and rebuilt in plasterboard. All systems have been replaced, including electrical, plumbing and underfloor heating, while only the condominium underfloor heating system has been retained. The perimeter walls have been lined with a plasterboard counter-wall, equipped with an internal insulating cavity. The systems have been inserted inside the plasterboard walls and the false ceiling.

The flooring was made using large ceramics (120 x 60) to maximise the efficiency of the existing underfloor heating system. The installation was carried out in a single fan-shaped field, starting from the wall that delimits the communal corridor. Based on the owners' indications, three colours from the Metal Design line by Cerdisa were used: Grey steel (metallic) Decor for the floors, black calamaine Decor for the bathroom and grey steel Decor for the kitchen.

The space is developed around a large open-space (living room-kitchen-entrance) of about 30 sqm. The bedroom-study covers 14 sqm, the bathroom 4.5 sqm, the hallway-laundry room 2.5 sqm and a small storage room 1 sqm. The furniture is characterised by its essentiality and linearity, with kitchen and wardrobes in matt white, while the sofa and the upholstered bed have a slightly lighter grey shade with respect to the floor.

The taps, supplied by the Teorema-WTS Group, follow a simple but impactful design, with squared lines that add a touch of modernity. In addition, design pieces from the 60s by renowned designers such as Achille Castiglioni, Franca Helg, Franco Albini, Alvar Aalto and Le Corbusier have been included in the furniture, giving an elegant note of historical relevance.

In conclusion, the renovated apartment offers a functional and modern space, characterised by the wise use of colours and materials, with attention to details and system efficiency. A space designed to meet the needs of its inhabitants, combining contemporary design and elements of historical value.
