Mission & Vision

Strictly all-Italian ceramic tile tradition and styling, experience and innovation, are all combined in an excellence that guides Cerdisa towards new solutions for the world of architecture and large projects.

In line with cutting-edge design trends, Cerdisa produces tiles that are beautiful yet functional: versatile products, for use indoors and outdoors, on floors and walls, with coordinated solutions for the commercial and residential construction sectors.

Our History

Cerdisa Ceramiche of Sassuolo founded in 1959, was established as a manufacturer of white-body wall tiles, before extending and diversifying its offering in response to the development of cutting-edge production technologies at the plants of the Ceramiche Ricchetti Spa group.

Cerdisa was one of the very first companies to produce fine porcelain stoneware and win recognition in the major projects sector. Today, the Cerdisa brand appears on a range of ceramic floor and wall coverings with high appearance and technology values, positioned at the high end of the market in terms of research, creativity and quality. Its innovation is rooted in a legacy of experience and research consolidated over time, with an ever-increasing focus on the needs of its customers, reflected in full-service solutions for the construction of design schemes suitable for the individual or the community.

Materials and technology

Cerdisa devotes considerable energy to safeguarding and reinforcing its products’ quality and originality, through continual, constant investment in innovation and the implementation of new production processes. Aided by the service and the advertising tools the company provides to its customers, products have a strong, immediate, distinctive identity, with a contemporary, essential style.

Cerdisa takes an ethical, responsible attitude to the environment and the people who belong to it. The company has been working for a long time to improve production processes and product quality by reducing consumption and using renewable energy sources.

Plants at the technological state of the art work with a system for the collection and reuse of production waste and process water, guaranteeing the very highest quality throughout the entire production process, certified in accordance with the UNI EN ISO 9001 standards.

ASTM International is the world’s largest voluntary standards organisation, and is respected as a reliable source of technical standards on materials, products, systems and services. Known for their high technical quality and market-relevance, ASTM standards play a role of primary importance within the IT infrastructures that provide guidance for design, construction and commercial activities worldwide.

Bureau Veritas

Cerdisa has received Bureau Veritas Certification quality certification. This certification, recognised all over the world, involves the inspection and auditing of products, designs and systems, in relation to in-house standards and national and international compulsory and voluntary norms, to allow issue of a conformity report. All this creates value-added for the company by assisting it in risk management, control of the supply chain and the improvement of socio-economic results.

CCC certification, introduced in 2002, applies to products both imported to China and produced in the country for the Chinese market. Information concerning CCC certification generally relates to health and safety. In the case of ceramic tiles, reference is made specifically only to porcelain tiles having water absorption of 0.5% or less. Certification is obtained through institutions specifically accredited by the Chinese authorities, all based in China.

The Company fulfils its CE marking obligations.

Green Building Council

Cerdisa is a member of the Green Building Council Italia, an association that promotes sustainable energy-efficient building practices, which are environmentally friendly and help improve the quality of life through LEED® certification standards.

ISO 14001

One of the top priorities of the ceramic tile industry in the Sassuolo-Maranello district is environmental protection, a goal we pursue through continual environmental impact assessment to reduce pollution problems. As a leading tile manufacturer, Gruppo Ceramiche Ricchetti S.p.A. has always pursued these objectives and in July 2003 obtained certification for the ISO 14001 standard in environmental management systems.

The Quality System at Cerdisa is certified to UNI EN ISO 9001, the international standard which guarantees quality in company methods at all levels and throughout the entire company structure: regarding design, production, marketing and distribution. Certification of “Gruppo Ceramiche Ricchetti SpA’s” Cerdisa brand refers to the products in this catalogue, which are made with CERDISASTONE technology for fine, porcelain stoneware.

A simple and significant method to define the grade of compatibility between the fioor and the settled function, that is between the fioor and the environmental features, is the “Classement UPEC”, french method constituted by the rating of the premises in relation to the severity of the application terms and to the consequent levels of performance required by the fiooring. The rating uses the following letters: U = grade of wear and abrasion resistance (indexes from 1 to 4 with number increasing in relation to greater resistance). P = grade of mechanical resistance (indexes from 1 to 4 with number increasing in relation to greater resistance). E = water absorption (indexes from 0 to 3 with number increasing in relation to better absorption). C = resistance to chemical products and staining (indexes from O to 3 with number incrasing in relation to greater resistance to acids, aikalis and staining products).
